In a bid to boost international numbers, Immigration New Zealand has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Education New Zealand to speed up visa processing times for those wanting to study in New Zealand.
From the end of July, international students who use a New Zealand Specialist Agent (NZSA) will have their visa applications processed within 10 working days, compared with the current average waiting time of 30 days through other agents.
Immigration Minister Nathan Guy says the MOU will see an enhanced role for Immigration New Zealand in the operation of the NZSA programme.
"Immigration New Zealand plays a key role in facilitating the entry of around 100,000 international students who come here each year," Mr Guy.

CIC will temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Skilled Workers Programme wef 01st of July 2012. Proposed FSWP changes are expected to come into force by early 2013.
Those with a qualifying job offer and applying under PhD stream will not be affected under this criteria of FSWP.
